This seating, shade, and wayfinding installation referencing Kingsport’s 1916 City Beautiful town plan is sited at the entrance to a new campus the City is building to train a workforce in order to encourage economic development. This small Appalachian town is the world headquarters for Eastman Chemical which is donated a newly-invented material, Tritan, for the colored panes. The steel, concrete, and paving was be executed by local fabricators.
